Welcome to the world of Persinette, a blog inspired by a personal love/obsession with anonymous internet art & intimate-feeling online spaces. The writing you will find here explores themes of meaning-making, healing, and connection through the lens of contemporary culture.

Persinette is the French version of Rapunzel, a fairy tale character encompassing many archetypes: the outsider, the idealist, and Jung’s puella—a sort of female Peter Pan. Some historians believe Rapunzel was based on the real-life Saint Barbara, whose captor was killed when her tower was struck by lighting. This part of the narrative resonates with the Tower tarot card, which represents destructive, necessary change.

Persinette-the-blog is an attempt at breaking out of the tower, deconstructing feelings of alienation and confinement and the structures that keep us stuck there, among other things. Usually this takes shape as an essay, other times you will find short fiction, reading recommendations, diary entries, and audio recordings.
